What does the Moon Sweepers packager do?
It is a field dump at the end of a conveyor. Load your tool’s dust there instead of walking to the station.
Moon Sweepers packager (packer) for Clean the Moon: field dump on a conveyor, load cycle, when to swap a robot vacuum, and TBA auto-sell. Patch 1.0.4.
Packer at belt end, then robot vacuum.

The Moon Sweepers packager (recaps also say packer) is a field machine at the end of a conveyor so Clean the Moon players dump dust without walking back to North. It is not the indoor station empty, not a capsule catcher, and not J.O.O.N.A.S. DragDrop Games, app 5335510. Steam.
You need the hammer. Hub squares accept belts. Load the packager, then later you can demolish it and drop a tier-two robot vacuum (Services) that paints a honeycomb zone. Exact recipes, auto-sell rules, and kg/s stay TBA.
| Fact | Detail |
|---|---|
| Also called | Packer (gameplay recaps) |
| Needs | Hammer + conveyor on hub / valid pads |
| Job | Field dump so you keep sweeping |
| Load | Walk up, interact, dust enters the line |
| Upgrade path | Can be broken down; Services → robot vacuum |
| Vacuum view | M to see the highlighted honeycomb ring |
| Auto-sell | Unverified — do not assume |
| vs depot | Depot/station is the pay node; packager is the walk-saver |
| vs capsule catcher | Catcher is for J.O.O.N.A.S. pods |

Recap in one sentence: you still sweep, but instead of running into the station you walk up to the packager and load it. The belt carries that dust toward production or a seller. That is the answer to the autocomplete “what does the packager do.” Public store copy does not publish a full machine table, so inputs/outputs beyond “your tool’s dust” stay TBA.

Players type packager. Voices say packer. This page treats them as one machine. If a later patch splits the names, we will split the row. Until then, do not buy two buildings because of spelling.
Player recaps of the in-game help (H) list handheld verbs: pack a dust capsule, empty a capsule into your tool, pick up, put down, switch tools with the wheel. That is inventory, not the Moon Sweepers packager building. Mixing those two is how people think the packager “doesn’t work.” Confirm the help text in-game.
Own the hammer. On the starter hub, squares accept conveyors. Snap a line out (recaps: 90–100 m if you want space), place the Moon Sweepers packager on the end, then load. Scroll-aim mergers/splitters if you branch. Raise the belt slightly so it does not eat terrain.

Recaps joke that the hammer sometimes refuses. Dust on the pad is the documented blocker. Clear the hex, then retry. First-hour hammer timing: beginner guide.
When you can afford to stop hand-loading. Recap: break the packager down, open Services, place tier-two robot vacuum. The game highlights the honeycombs it will clear. Press M to read the ring. Clear the center hex yourself if you like, then leave the ring to the vacuum and keep extending belts as passive income.
| Setup | You still do | Machine does |
|---|---|---|
| Station empty only | Walk home every fill | Nothing |
| Belt + packager | Sweep + load at the pad | Haul toward base |
| Belt + robot vacuum | Extend belts, fund power later | Clear the painted ring |
| J.O.O.N.A.S. + catcher | Build catchers / factory | Sweep remote hexes, shoot pods |
Robot vacuum is a local ring. J.O.O.N.A.S. is the expensive autonomous sweeper that needs capsule catchers. Do not skip the packager hour and jump to 20k robots. Automation.

Unverified. Autocomplete asks this because factory videos show capsules, catchers, and sell chutes in the same base. The packager recap never says the pad auto-ships. Watch one cycle. If capsules appear, they still need a path to a seller. Assume nothing.
J.O.O.N.A.S. shoots a pod at the nearest catcher. That machine is required for those robots to “work.” Putting a packager on a hill does not catch pods.
Depot / station / garage chute = pay and storage. Packager = shorten the walk into that graph. You still place unmovable pads, so a packager in a dead crater is the same tax as a bad depot. G-grid before commit. Refunds: 1.0.4 recap, confirm UI — depot.
This is the executable block: situation to action for Clean the Moon logistics.
| Mistake | Fix |
|---|---|
| Packager with no hammer | Buy hammer on the wall first |
| Belt on dusty pad | Sweep the square, then place |
| Assume auto-sell | Watch the line hit a shipment / seller |
| Two packagers because of packer spelling | One machine |
| Vacuum with no belt | Services machine still needs haul |
| J.O.O.N.A.S. instead of packager in hour two | Local ring first |
| Pre-1.0.3 swallow | Update, then test one item |
| Building you cannot move | Aim once; refund only if 1.0.4 UI pays |
Next: chain that belt into a factory on automation.
It is a field dump at the end of a conveyor. Load your tool’s dust there instead of walking to the station.
Recaps use packer and packager for the same pad. Treat as one until a patch splits them.
No. Station empty plus shipment still pays. The packager saves walking.
Services → tier-two robot vacuum after you can break the packager down. It highlights a honeycomb ring; M zooms the zone.
